Biography

Kiana Hayeri’s editorial clients include: Le Monde, Der Spiegel, Washington Post, Time magazine, Monocle Magazine, Aljazeera America and CBC.

Kiana Moved to Canada while still a teenager and so photography became her way of communicating in a new country with an unfamiliar language and culture. Half way through her last year of university, Kiana put her life in a backpack and in search of her ‘home,’ started a nomadic life. With a keen interest in documentary projects, she aims to use her camera to tell stories, with a social message. Kiana has worked internationally but remains focused on stories that illuminate her background. Her self-initiated often explore topics such as migration, adolescence and sexuality. She is currently working on a long-term project documenting the lives of youth and their culture in post-conflict societies. Currently, she is based out of Kabul, Afghanistan, covering the region for media and working on personal projects.
